In today's society, marriage is common when it is a couple who appear to be in love. Marriage is a form of union recognized by law. There is no law against a certain age for dating, but most state laws state that for a couple to marry they must be at least 18 years old without parental consent. Society does not know the responsibilities that come with marriage and the difficulties and struggles they may encounter. In detail, a couple gets married, something goes wrong and they decide to divorce. Just as it is common for marriage, it is common for people to get divorced. Divorce is the legal termination of a valid marriage contract. However, divorce can be caused by different circumstances and can have a huge effect on many issues, for example between themselves, on children, if any, and on family relationships. Most states refer to the end of a marriage as a dissolution, but it is more consistent with the term divorce. Divorce and dissolution are court actions that end a marriage and divide assets and remaining liabilities between the parties. (Adamson, 2000). Divorce rates increased dramatically throughout the 20th century. The United States is known for having the highest divorce rate in the world. (Yarrow, 1987) Divorce can be caused by several reasons. People get married hoping for the best and a couple can experience an annulment. Annulment is the legal process that dissolves a marriage as if it had never existed. (textbook #2) Sometimes a couple decides to call off the relationship because it is a much easier process and the reason why they want to call off the relationship can be quite harsh. For example, they can get an annulment due to bigamy, which would mean finding out that your spouse is married to someone else. Incest may occur, which is considered marrying someone without knowing it. A couple may experience fraud, i.e. making things up about who they are. One of them might say
