Topic > Kevin Bullis' Geoengineering Move Analysis

The dawn of a new engineering technique called geoengineering aims to save the Earth through large-scale manipulation of the environment to counter global warming. “The Geoengineering Gambit” by Kevin Bullis, is an article about some of the ways geoengineering could solve the climate crisis and the problems that could be created by such solutions. Bullis gained knowledge about geoengineering and climate issues through his work as an energy editor for Technology Review magazine. Bullis' work as an editor builds him a solid foundation of credibility in the field and demonstrates the foundations of his credibility as he builds his ethics. The proposed geoengineering solutions are related to current climate problems. Bullis' aim was to draw attention to current solutions proposed by geoengineering. Bullis talks about the current solutions offered by geoengineering but also the perceived problems. Bullis also raises the ethical issues that can arise from these solutions. For example, the problems that nations would have if another nation launched objects into the atmosphere is one of many problems that Bullis finds reason to study. Bullis also expresses his feelings about geoengineering and how it would be better if humanity was able to reduce the impact on our environment instead of applying temporary or artificial solutions. Bullis intentionally addressed this article to everyone, given the worldwide impact on people that some support through geoengineering. Bullis unintentionally directed the article at the U.S. government and other leaders of influential nations. The tone of the article actually says that geoengineering could help, but more tests and results are needed before drawing any major conclusions. ...... middle of paper ...... everyone on Earth as it would undoubtedly affect everyone on Earth. Geoengineering and the results of its use are an unknown so vast that it could potentially end up destroying the Earth or saving it. There is no other decision that would have such an enormous impact that the use of geoengineering would potentially be worthwhile. Trying to save the Earth through artificial geoengineering methods was the point of Bullis' article. Bullis is not only credible due to his position as an editor for Technology Review magazine, but he also promotes his ethics by citing scientists and providing his own arguments. Bullis does not use pathos in his article, as it is based more on reason than emotion. Bullis wrote a very logical article about geoengineering and the implications it has on the world. Geoengineering could end up destroying the world or saving it from destruction.
