Deforestation affects our generation and, if it is not stopped, will have a major effect on generations to come. If deforestation continues, many plant and animal species will be wiped out forever. There are many benefits to deforestation, such as housing, logging, agriculture, government corruption, and the economic situation. Many scientists believe that “at the rate we are going, in a hundred years we will no longer have forests. Not many organizations are helping deforestation.” There are so many things that are affected by deforestation and we need to do everything we can to keep our world alive. The main causes of deforestation are agriculture, deforestation and overpopulation. Subsistence agriculture is responsible for 48% of deforestation; commercial agriculture is responsible for 32% of deforestation; logging is responsible for 14% of deforestation and the removal of firewood makes up 5% of deforestation.
