''I couldn't love you, dear, so much, beloved I don't honor you more'' (www.gooddreads.com). Richard Lovelace, 17th century English poet. Richard achieved many things in life, but is best known for his poem "To Lucasta Going to War." He was born into an old and wealthy Kentish family. He was the eldest son of Sir Williams and Anne Barne Lovelace. He was also a contemptuous poet whose main themes were love and war and courtly behavior (http://poemhunter.com/richard-lovelace/bio). Richard Lovelace was an extraordinary poet who achieved many successes in his life. Richard lived a legendary life as a soldier, lover and courtier. He was born in Woolwich, England in 1618. Richard had four brothers and three sisters. Richard inherited the tradition of military distinction. Richard was only nine years old when his father died. Even though his father's death hurt Richard, it didn't break him down, rather it made him stronger (http://poemhunter.com/richard-lovelace/bio). However, when Richard was eleven he attended frontier school because he did not need financial assistance like the scholars. Subsequently, Richard attended two high schools, Crockett High School and Dawson High School. Therefore, when it came to college life, Richard had many choices to choose from. Meanwhile, Richard attended three different universities, Cambridge University, Oxford University and Gloucester Hall. Where he graduated with Degree of Master Arts. Richard also earned his Master Arts degree at the age of eighteen. Although Richard was also sworn in as Gentleman Wayter Extraordinary to the King (http://www.luminarium.org/sevenlit/lovelace.htm). On the other hand, Richard's poetic life was very dramatic. Richard was not only a Knight Poet, but he... middle of paper... explained his poetry line by line, I really understood everything. As a final point, I have learned and appreciated the adventure I have undertaken researching and leaning on Richard Lovelace and his wonders of life. Work cited Page Jokinen, Annillna.
