Babylon was a major power in the region during Hamurabi's time and created the Acadian Empire. Today Babylon is one of the memorable empires of the modern world because of several things, such as mathematics, religion and the hanging garden of Babylon which is one of the 7 wonders. The Babylonians played a very important role in modern mathematics, they invaded a lot of numerical ideas which they still use to this day.
