No matter where we live, poverty is just minutes from our neighborhoods. Wealthy Western nations face many challenges in addressing their poverty problems at home; however they should be active partners helping to solve this global crisis. Poor countries must take responsibility for their failures. The governments of these countries must implement economic and social policies that promote growth. Furthermore, they must invest in infrastructure, education, healthcare, functional public and private institutions, while creating a platform for the growth and development of their economies.
