Breaking barriers, allowing women to vote was not established until eighteen years after Queen Victoria's death, however it did allow younger men to participate in general elections while the standard age for women was thirty and above. We think back to the modern age and see how dramatically we have advanced politically and the challenges this poses for equality. Race would have been an obstacle for Alice to even get on her ballot, inevitably due to her young age, but also at odds with her gender inequality. Somehow, though, Wonderland valued her opinion on the matter and she was treated the same as the others, even though it wasn't her land that contributed anything. This was of great importance and was conducted with the understanding that one person's vote can make a difference, albeit compromising leadership towards the mouse and the dodo as the best
