Topic > Have you ever wondered what impact rock and roll has had on American society? Rock and roll originated in Africa because it only used the voice. Rock and roll was called Tin Pan Alley because they said it sounded like banging on pans. During the big band era, singers began to become famous for singing alone. Then, when the electric guitar emerged, rock and roll became more popular and well-known. When radio and TV became accessible to every family, rock began to emerge more because children and teenagers could watch their favorite band perform on the most famous show called American Bandstand. Parents did not like the new style, called emerging rock because they thought it showed crude behavior and was a bad influence on their children. Rock and roll had a positive impact on American society by changing the way teenagers lived. People say rock and roll was a bad influence, but they're wrong. Rock and roll has had a positive influence on American teenagers. He had a positive influence because he showed teenagers how not to behave and how not to treat people. He also taught them to respect their parents and not behave like rockers do on TV and at live concerts. Parents didn't show much kindness towards rock because of the singers and bands and the way they behaved and did drugs, however parents still let their children listen to rock and roll but controlled how they behaved.
