Films have always been used to bring out various cultural artifacts and traditions. Through cinema it would be easier to highlight the culture to which one or the main character belongs. The Iliad and Troy remains among the most famous literary and cinematic pieces that have been read, seen and appreciated throughout history. Much like the film Troy, based on the epic The Iliad, Gladiator is a 2000 British-American epic historical drama film directed by Ridley Scott. Gladiator features the character of Crowe, a fictional character, very loyal to the Roman general Maximus Decimus Meridius. Crowe is betrayed when Commodus, a highly ambitious son of the then emperor Marcus Aurelius, takes power after killing his father. The characters in both Troy and Gladiator were essentially dressed in military artifacts. From both Troy and Gladiator, you would find that the sword was a staple outfit for most characters. In Gladiator we find the main character, Crowe holding the sword every time he is filmed. The first time Crowe took up swords was when the throne had to change hands after Commodus took the throne in cold blood. This shift in power and Crowe's clear disappointment would never have shown a military approach if it weren't for the clothing. The March of the Greeks to Troy is a military insignia presented by a battalion in which all soldiers carried a sword. This was a clear reflection of the weapons of the era where the sword was the main tool for warfare. On the other hand, Maximus in the film Gladiator engages in a duel with Commodus, stabbing him with his sword. Another great similarity between... half of the card... battles. Generally, you might find that the men in both films are mostly in blue, while the women wear white clothes. The design of clothing for soldiers and fighters in both Gladiator and Troy was done with great similarities. Both Gladiator and Troy had fighters dressed in short clothing, perhaps to facilitate their free movement over different terrain. Both were armed with a metal shield to defend against violent attacks, many of which were fought with the sword. The costumes used in the Troy and Gladiator films had great similarities. Much of the scene takes place with exchanges between warring groups with many combatants dressed in military clothing. Silver gold was the color chosen for the main clothing that covered the main body of the Gladiators and fighters in AuthorSurname5the Troy.
