Topic > God's Journey in the Bible - 779

The author was born into the Baptist faith. He was very active in the church and always had a great love for his fellow citizens. But the call was heartbreaking. It felt like I was gaining a new outlook on life. It takes passive love for people and force action to reach out and help your brother. A call from God has the power to convince us that this is not just our work, but is something willed and bestowed by God. He answered the call to salvation and received Christ. It wasn't supposed to be an easy journey. One of the most difficult and elusive understandings he encountered was the realization that the path of God's journey forced him to walk his true path. Many preachers have admitted that not long after their salvation they realized the burden of “preaching the Bible,” but the thought was almost repugnant to them. A preacher vows that God would kill him if he didn't give in to preaching after months of resistance. Once God calls a person for ministry, He must qualify him for service, because when a man surrenders to the calling, he is not immediately prepared for ministry. God must enable him as he enabled Paul in the Bible. The first part of the calling equation is prayer: you must be humble and willing to serve Christ twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year. The story of Samuel reminds us that even young children can hear God speaking to them. Have you ever stopped to think what would have happened if Samuel had been attentive to the voice of God? What would have happened if Eli had told Samuel, “No, just go to sleep. You have to imagine things”? After all, the Bible says that in those days the word of the Lord was rare. The call implies that we hear a voice from beyond… the center of the card… specified occupations.
