1.0 IntroductionThis report aims to explore the different views held on the effects of cosmetic surgery on adolescents. The report will also provide the context of the debate, its social significance, identify the parties involved and present the different arguments relating to the opinions held.2.0 The issue and the context of the debate.Cosmetic surgery is the process of reconstructing parts of the body according to one's desire to improve one's physical appearance to achieve beauty perfection and has become a small but notable trend among adolescents (Collins, 2013; Virtual Medical Center, 2010).3.0 The social significance of the debate.The growing demand for surgery aesthetics by adolescents has raised public concern regarding the effects of cosmetic surgery on adolescents since adolescents have a naive mentality and are not yet mature enough to consider the long-term consequences and danger of cosmetic surgery on their bodies (Collins , 2013; Woinarowicz, 2007). The question therefore is: does cosmetic surgery have positive or negative effects on adolescents? 4.0 The participants in the debate.
