What is the true meaning of religion today? Many people nowadays hold different religions and have different ways of practicing them. Religion can be a sensitive topic if brought into a conversation because of other people's opinions. So what can someone do to keep an open mind instead of arguing? Listen to their point of view and try to understand it. America was originally called “the melting pot” for a reason. This article will explore what religion is and why it is so important. Although everyone's opinion on religion is different, it is also the same in many ways. Everyone on this earth should be able to choose their religion and practice it as they wish. Deciding to claim a religion comes with a great responsibility and a great change of commitment in someone's life. Religion has existed for thousands of years and has not yet ceased. Most religion began with Jesus Christ and the story of Moses. Since then, the religion has branched into sub-religions, which are just another form of religion within a religion. Today I'm sure there are hundreds of forms of religion. From Christians to Muslims, from Catholics to Jehovah's Witnesses, from atheists to Protestants, religion in the world is so diverse that it is difficult to interpret religion itself. No matter how someone decides to practice or follow their chosen religion, it is important to them. No one will ever know the importance of someone else's religion.
