In this article “What Americans Still Ignore,” Anu Partanen believes that education in Finland has been more successful than education in the United States. He says Finnish schools believe in engaging creativity more than taking standardized tests. In Finland there are no private schools. This means that every child can attend public schools and all are publicly funded. There are also no private universities in Finland, so everyone goes to public school from kindergarten to doctorate. In Finland schools, teachers or universities are not based on rank which means school or teacher. However, I am not satisfied with public school in Finland. Not all public schools have a good background. Homeschooling is rare in Finland. Finland believes more in community. In the United States, homeschooled students score higher on standardized tests. I think homeschooling has its advantages. Especially these days homeschooling is the best choice for students. In my opinion, homeschooling is beneficial for children because they can concentrate at home. The advantages of homeschooling are that it can bring families together more closely. Parents can spend a lot of time with their children. At home the individual may feel a desire to acquire knowledge and may benefit from learning new things from parents. Parents can share experiences with their children. It makes the family bond stronger and easily able to interact with parents easily. Individuals can interact with different types of ages at home and this is an advantage for them... middle of paper....... In some schools students really have to think about how to dress and be popular. Some really go to the extreme. Some students dress up or be like someone else just to be popular or fit in with the group. But they are not themselves, they are just creating a mask to please others. In homeschooling there is no need to show something that is false. But in homeschooling there is no pressure. A student can complete his studies faster if he does not want to wait every year. Like going to school every year and completing grades. Making studies faster and easier. The work cited Anu Partanen. What Americans continue to ignore."
