Topic > Jesus Christ and Theories of the Atonement - 1641

It may be said that in the eyes of God, Christians are merely dirty glasses stained inside and out by their own sin. These glasses were once clean, not plagued by stains. Now the glasses bring with them these ugly stains, the stains of sin and evil. The dirty glasses had to accept the punishment for getting dirty and the punishment was to be smashed with a hammer. The hammer is God's tool against sinners. As soon as the hammer reached the glass, a pan covered the glass and took the blow of the hammer to save the glass. This pan represents Jesus because Jesus sacrificed himself to God so that God would forgive us for our sins. The atonement is the act of making things right between us and God. This story illustrates a very simplified version of one theory of the Atonement. Jesus, the "Pan", accomplished the Atonement by sacrificing himself for mercy and forgiveness. He died for us so that God would forgive our sins. The theories of the Atonement themselves are different explanations to help interpret what God actually did to save us. In each of the four theories of the Atonement, Jesus is the bridge that connects humanity and God and helps us connect with one another. We have multiple theories about the Atonement because there is no single, simple answer to resolve the many questions about Jesus' death. One theory does not provide enough information and does not cover everything that needs to be said. Each theory of the Atonement is acceptable because it contains multiple answers and all are correct. Since they give so many different answers, they tend to overlap and sometimes meet, but they do so to cover every aspect and question presented in the theories. Since there are multiple theories of the Atonement, all Christians will have different answers. opinions on which theory best fits Jesus' accomplishments. Personal opinion on theories of the Atonement depends on how Christians look at Christianity and which model they think contributed most to making things right. A certain Christian's opinion on the theories shows us how Jesus influenced their lives, through Jesus as a teacher, Jesus as a savior, Jesus as a conqueror, or Jesus as a presence. Jesus as a teacher tells us to be good, follow him and live ethically. screw. In this model, Jesus saves us from our own ignorance because we do not know right from wrong. He wants us to change our indifferent behavior by educating and inspiring each of us through his teachings and examples of love and knowledge.
