It opened my eyes to really think about how the education system is taking creativity away from children. School systems are so focused on college and career readiness that they decapitate students' creative abilities. I have personally observed how teachers stigmatize mistakes. When you look at a classroom and a student creates an art project, but the teacher deducts points because it wasn't what they imagined the picture would look like. In schools today, math and language arts are offered at least an hour a day, but students are lucky if they receive art or music instruction for thirty minutes each week. I think all the tests put on teachers to prepare students have caused even more of a disconnect from creativity. Teachers are so concerned with providing the class with required information that they forget the creative side of teaching. Ken Roberson explains it in a way that engages people and makes them listen to this situation without them realizing to what extent. Just like Sir Ken Roberson, I believe it is our job to educate all parts of a person to help impact the future. It is my duty to find ways to motivate my students in the classroom to be creative and create a future of people who are earning more than their heads
