An example would be a mouse. Because Lennie is a big strong boy and ends up killing the mouse with all his might but keeps it in his pocket. George is frustrated that Lennie keeps the dead mouse in his pocket and wants Lennie to give him the mouse so George explains, “I won't take it away just out of meanness. That mouse ain't fresh, Lennie; and then you broke it by caressing it. Get another fresh mouse and I'll let you hold it for a while” (9). George is trying to take care of Lennie and teach him the right and wrong things to do. Try to stop and fix things before they end up in something even worse. George knows how Lennie acts when they have been in many situations before, such as why they ran out of Weed.
