The reason for civil disobedience is that when people get no benefit from obeying the laws, they will try to resist or break the laws. For example, the movement led by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi against British rules in India and the American civil rights movement led by Martin Luther King Jr. Both movements refused to obey the rules, but we can justify their action because we accept to obey the rules only if it benefits us. In India, the British rules did not benefit the people in India and in America only a certain group enjoyed all the benefits and the other groups did not get any benefits.
