Have you ever thought about completely changing your life in a matter of time? Well, in a matter of time you could change your life with a small mistake in your game or when you lose your wife or win a huge victory over a rival or win the lottery. In Jake Reinvented, Jake has changed his entire life to try to win the girl of his dreams, Didi. Jake decided to go play football for the first time and throw big parties for school, dressed in the coolest clothes. In Jake Reinvented, Jake Garrett changed everything about him to ensure he made a good impression on Didi. He remembers his past when he was Didi's math teacher when they went to their old school. “Jake went to McKinley! He was my math tutor. If it weren't for him I would still be in seventh grade." P.42. He couldn't remember Didi right away, then she said "remember that time I took a test and we studied by the pool and you put sunscreen everywhere, but you forgot your nose." P.43. That's when she decided it needed to change for her now that they remember each other. At a party when they were at Jakes they had found a t-shirt that said "Jake and Jen found a t-shirt that says McKinley math team 2001" and the math jocks do it based on the number that roughly matched Jake's size. P.162. That's when they started questioning his past when Jen started calling him a nerd and Didi defended Jake. They had found his honor class awards and chess champion trophy, college records, and him being a math teacher. P. 187 In Jake Reinvented, Jake is a great example of what can happen when you try to change for someone or something in life. When you try to hide your past by saying you were a great football player and liked to party when in reality you turned into a girl who couldn't even take the blame for hitting Nelson with a bottle of champagne and getting something Jake hasn't even done is change your world to try to impress others, when you should have been yourself and stuck with what you're good at instead of changing, even if that means you're mentoring students or part of the chess club or in love with dragons and dungeons, don't change yourself to be someone you think you can be because it's not worth the failure you're setting yourself up for.
