The debate about whether college or professional football outperforms the other is a recurring occurrence, and the debate doesn't end on whether Saturday or Sunday is the best day to watch football. Websites like ESPN and Sports Illustrated tackle the topic every summer, analyzing all aspects of the games. The debate includes the quantity and variety of teams and players, traditions, half-time shows and how football is used in the game through play options and penalties, the advantages for players. Although for there to be a collegiate or professional football game, there has to be people watching it. The public and fans can make or break a team in the National Football League, also known as the NFL, or the National Collegiate Athletic Association. also known as NCAA. On average, the number of tickets sold by an NFL team depends on how many games it won that season. For example, in the 2012 season the Jacksonville Jaguars won two of sixteen regular season games, and by midseason season ticket prices and sales plummeted. On the other hand, the collegiate football crowd does not follow this rule. The stadiums of Division One through Three football teams are always filled with college students, alumni and supportive family members. At the University of Michigan, the stadium holds approximately 110,000 people compared to the largest stadium in the NFL which holds 90,000 (Top Ten Largest NFL Stadiums). However the crowd creates a huge number of decibels and this creates problems when 110,000 fans scream for their team in a dome. The noise echoes and makes it difficult for players to hear coaches' play calls.
