My virtual baby's name is Dominic. He is a white male of average height and weight with blonde hair, green eyes, and pale skin. Cognitively he appears younger than his chronological age until sixth grade. Physically Domenico always seemed older than his chronological age. The first months of Domenico's life were difficult at times. I decided early on to formula feed and was responding to different types of crying. At three months he was crying after every bottle and had frequent diarrhea, so we decided to switch to a different formula rather than introduce food (My Virtual Child). The family's family dynamics changed over the years of Dominic's childhood. When Dominic was born, we lived in an apartment in a rural neighborhood that wasn't completely safe (My Virtual Child). Once Dominic's sister, Alexandra, was born, we started saving more money and bought a house in a safe, rural neighborhood. At the end of Domenico's childhood the family consisted of both parents and two children, Domenico and Alessandra. During his childhood, his uncle stayed one summer and on another occasion another uncle stayed for a few weeks. Both parents worked throughout his childhood, which led Dominic to place himself in a daycare center as early as possible (My Virtual Child). During the first nine months of his life, Dominic fell ill several times with colds and digestive complications, atypical for children. newborns. Physically, Dominic was active the first nine months. At three months old he started laughing and focused his gaze on me, his mother (My Virtual Child). At eight months we played object permanence games which improved his cognitive development and at nine months Dominic was alerted...... middle of paper ...... and (My Virtual Child). Domenico is able to read a few short words, write his name and most of the letters of the alphabet. The results also mentioned that he has an age-appropriate level of phonological awareness and that his language development is average in vocabulary and story telling (My Virtual Child). Cognitively, Dominic is not interested in small art projects and gets frustrated when working with blocks and shapes. Dominic is also behind mathematically in counting, identifying quantitative relationships and classifying objects (My Virtual Child). The parental questionnaire suggests that we are slightly above average in affection and warmth; and we are in the top 15% for control and discipline. Works Cited My Virtual Child. (2015, August 28).
