Watching Chris and Jeff communicate with doctors, nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members really made me think about how to advocate for clients and how to interact with colleagues. Effective verbal communication is especially important when dealing with many overlapping systems to provide the best possible care to our patients. Therefore, if you do not communicate well with a system, the client's ability to recover may be hindered. One thing I have learned in my practice is that many systems influence patient/client recovery. As a social work student, we learn about the theories, however, we don't really get the chance to see them in action or how they affect our clients in many different ways. The only theory I can see plays an important role in a person
