Although 'Men Behaving Badly' isn't much older than 'Friends,' the most recent episodes of Friends are quite different from the final episodes of MBB. The most noticeable difference between the two shows are the clothes the people wear actors and their accents. Of course this is to be expected due to the difference in time and location of filming, but the characters also play very different parts. In MBB all the characters are in their 30s, live in a rather rough area of London and aren't particularly concerned about their fashion sense; while in Friends they live in downtown New York and most of the characters are always wearing the newest clothes and part of the narrative revolves around what they wear. Fashion is covered a lot more in Friends and there's also a lot of talk about stereotypes about what men and women should wear. Furthermore, most of the actors on Friends are much younger than those on MBB and therefore are aimed at the younger generation. Another difference is the film style between the two programs. Since there are many more characters in Friends, the two shots are not used as much as in MBB Friends also uses many more close-ups because there is much more intimacy between the characters. In MBB the preferred shot type is usually a medium long shot or two shots because there are rarely more than 2 characters in the scene at the same time....
