“Management is doing things well; leadership is doing the right things” (Peter F. Drucker). This is a famous quote about leadership that one of my interviewees and I agree on. I chose to interview two leaders about their role in leadership and their views on gender in the workplace. The two people I chose to interview are very authentic people who have been leaders in their work for years. The first is David Lanzon. He currently owns several local small businesses around Metro Detroit and the Maumee Ohio area, with hundreds of employees. I've known him since I worked at a particular location he owned. He has been involved in business his entire life, ever since he was a teenager, and has therefore excelled greatly. The second interviewee is Virginia Milliken. She started and helped her husband, Pat, operate a car dealership in Redford, Michigan for over 50 years. Virginia's husband, Pat Milliken, is my mother's uncle.
