These students come from all walks of life, from diverse cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds. (www.mayo.edu) The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) recognized more than 400 accredited programs in 2005, and these programs must last between 9 and 24 months to earn a certificate, diploma, or associate degree. Conclusion As I have studied this healthcare profession, I have found it very interesting how close this program is to becoming a doctor. Students have to learn some of the same subjects that a doctor has to learn, only with less time and obviously earn much less. This is an interesting field to train in, however it is a start to more interesting areas of medicine
