Its population consists of approximately 2,155 female inmates who have committed a variety of different crimes, from robbery to murder. As I got out of the car and headed towards the entrance of the institute, I could feel a sense of dread creeping up my spine. Before I knew it, I was inside the institute and was greeted by the first security checkpoint, where my bag was searched and I had to pass through a full-body metal detector. After I was allowed through the first security door, I entered a lobby where I would be admitted
