Topic > Jesus vs Muhammad - 1310

Jesus the Christ and Muhammad no two single men have touched more lives. They founded two related but separate religions that today appear to become the mainstream of society around the world. In the year “0” BC near the city of Bethlehem Jesus was born. Almost 600 years later, in the city of Mecca, the prophet Muhammad was born. These two events changed the course of history for all of humanity. The life of Jesus was ministry and death. Much of the early life of Jesus Christ is a mystery. The preponderance of information about his life is found in the four gospels of the New Testament. Jesus was born to the Virgin Mary in the year “0” BC near the city of Bethlehem in a manger outside an inn. This humble beginning was the prefiguration of a life of humility and service. At the age of 12, Jesus was seen in the temple speaking, listening, and teaching many learned men. It was then that Jesus declared that he was the Son of God with a divine purpose here on earth. Jesus lived a traditional Jewish life as a simple carpenter. At the age of 30 Jesus was baptized and recognized by John the Baptist; it was then that his earthly ministry began. The main points of Jesus' teaching were that God loves you and is with you, for us to love one another, for the immense value of every person. The Good News: the kingdom of God has come to earth. The reality of the judgment of heaven or hell and that God forgives those who ask for the life, ministry and death of Muhammad began when the Prophet of Islam was born in the year 570 BC. Born into a wealthy family he would have lost both of his parents at the age of six. Mohammed became a camel driver traveling between Syria and Arabia, he would later become a caravan manager for wealthy merchants, which led him to meet his wife Khadija, 15 years his senior, and she was his only wife until upon his death, 24 years later. One aspect of his teaching that drew negative attention to him was his repeated claim that he was the Son of God sent to Earth to redeem humanity. This was in direct violation of Jewish law. For this he was sentenced to death. Betrayed by one of his apostles, Judas, Jesus did not resist the imprisonment but saw it as the fulfillment of his purpose.
