Things like sex and crime can lead them astray. Religion offers a kind of promise that if one keeps away from these things and follows religion, he will be promised an afterlife that anyone would want. In some ways the Church tells people what they want to hear in the hope that a person will keep their commitment. However, for some religions this often gets out of hand. Suicide bombers are an example of this. Another social issue is military aid to Afghanistan. There is decreasing strength in Canada and the US dollar. The United States is in fact inferior to Canada when it comes to the value of the dollar because it continues to spend money it shouldn't. There are many citizens in the United States who protest against the war instead of supporting their country. Unions have changed significantly since they were created. There were supposed to be things like better healthcare, more employees in agreement with employers, and just general improvement in labor regulations. However, with greater demand for productivity, companies are looking to poorer countries to make their products. With things like lead being found in children's toys, people are starting to disbelieve these once-trusted big companies. Problems like this make shopping difficult for our young people at Christmas
