In reference to Locke, I believe that children need to play to develop their maximum potential because play creates creativity, confidence and general well-being. Feeney further concluded that play is beneficial because it increases physical competence, increases physical fitness and decreases health risks, representational competence, oral language competence and narrative understanding, positive approaches to learning, logical skills and self-regulation and social negotiation. These are all characteristics that children develop through play and I agree with Feeney because children develop a number of skills and characteristics through play and I also believe that play helps shape an individual and helps them discover who they are and what he is passionate about. When you play you find out what your likes and dislikes are and this is crucial to know during self discovery because you need to know what your passions are and what you dislike to find what your purpose in life is. As the class breaks into corner groups, Wyatt becomes increasingly active and talkative when it comes to participating and collaborating with his classmates. It proves that only great things come from the game, including: greater participation, greater confidence, readiness, more activity and even a more positive attitude. All of these attributes relate to play and how it can influence a child's daily development
