The goals of this plan will span several years. These plans will provide the organization with important goals to strive for, which is to be the top level three trauma unit in the county. Through the process of developing a strategic plan it is common practice to identify an organization's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and potential threats. To develop an operational plan, the company must have the basis of its strategic plan. In other words, to know how to get there, you need to know where you are going. Once we know where we're going, figuring out how to get there is the job of an operational plan. The operational plan will show how day-to-day activities are carried out in support of the organisation's strategic objectives. Once plans are in place they need to be monitored to determine the need for change, the best way to do this is to incorporate KPIs into plans for data collection and progress
