Basketball GameBeep. Beep. Beep. Beep. My alarm goes off to wake me up. I turn to look at the clock on the nightstand next to my bed. 6:30 shines brightly on the screen. The sun is peeking through my bedroom window, shining perfectly on me telling me it's time to get up. I get out of bed to start my usual morning routine; I brush my teeth, shower and get ready for the day. As the cold water splashes against my body when I step into the shower, waking me fully, my thoughts are already on the game tonight. I listen to some of my favorite tunes while I get ready to calm my nerves. It's only 7:30 in the morning and my nerves are already more on edge than ever. My day at school seems to go slower than usual. I can't concentrate in any class. All that's on my mind is the game. Imagining different scenarios in my head, trying to figure out what we need to do to beat the Redmen tonight. Tonight may be the last ever chance for the seniors to wear a Falcon basketball jersey, the last time we all play together this season. I can say I'm not the only player whose nerves have completely taken over their thoughts throughout the day. The bell rings at 3.14pm. Four more hours until tip-off. We are fortunate to have home court advantage, which tonight will host the first round of Class B, District 5 girls basketball.
