However, after this week's study, I have come to understand the greater evidence in the multi-authorship and compilation of the Pentateuch. However, the biggest question that remains is: when was the Torah compiled? Alexander does a great job explaining what is known and what is not known. I have to agree that the exile in Babylon makes when you look from Genesis to Kings a collection. However, although the exact date is not known, the most useful resource Alexander offers to the discussion is the purpose of the Pentateuch.
