The group is attracted by promotions for the recently rebuilt Marigold Hotel, and are surprised when they arrive to find the hotel in disarray. Even though their new surroundings are less luxurious than they imagined, their experiences have changed them. Main Concept A lot of issues and concepts came up with this movie. What seemed to be the overriding main theme throughout the film was that being older doesn't mean life ends. There are several issues that are faced as you get older, but that doesn't necessarily mean that growth and transformation are over. Each character in the film faced a series of changes, some related to the aging process and others that can occur at any time in life (Hoffman, 2012). Generational Themes There were many generational themes that came through in this film. , which addressed a variety of issues that spanned many avenues taken. Each person in the film was dealing with very personal reasons that led them to come to the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
