Alcohol is a volatile, flammable liquid that is the intoxicating component of wine, beer, spirits, and other beverages. It is also used as an industrial solvent and as a fuel (Dictionary). Alcohol is a legal drug in liquid form that changes the way we feel, think and act. Pure alcohol such as vodka is a colorless drink. It is an odorless and flammable fluid. Alcohol can be divided into two distinct groups: what actually happens and what you expect to happen. For example, when a person is out with his friends, he might drink a lot. Their friend might try to have a conversation with them and in their mind they think they are speaking openly but in reality they can't even get up properly. Basically alcohol makes people do things before they think about what they are doing. When they consume too much alcohol they may not be in the right state of mind. When someone is intoxicated they may not know what is happening in their surroundings or even with themselves. In some cases, when a person is drunk and other people see them in that state of mind, they may want to take advantage of that person. This happens most often with teenagers and young adults. What is an alcoholic? It means that every time you see the sight of alcohol you must drink it, no matter what others say. It means you can't say no to alcohol. When someone is an alcoholic, they only drink alcohol because they see other people doing it or because they have nothing better to do with their life. People who are not alcoholics know their limits and will stop drinking when they feel a little tipsy. The alcoholic will drink a lot and still put a bottle on his head and drink even more. Alcoholics go so far as to go...... middle of paper......to do something else and then just quit. I feel like I won't go out as much as I used to and even if I do I won't make stupid decisions. I would think smartly about what I'm drinking and I would think wisely about what I'm doing. The suspension has opened my eyes and I see that I need to get my life back together. Looking back you will see how much I have changed and how much I have grown as a person. As I said before, attending Cortland college is a really big deal to me for the simple fact that before I went to Cortland my grandmother passed away and I want to show her how successful I can be and not disappoint her. When I was accepted to Cortland she was very happy and that was one of the reasons I decided to come to Cortland in the first place. Hold on and believe in me like I believe in myself.
