Isaiah 58:6-14 is a very powerful passage. The first version of the Bible I read it in was the King James Version. That version didn't make much sense to me because of all the "you" and "thee" and "your." So I looked it up again in the new revised standard version. It was much clearer when I looked it up in that Bible. There are some similarities and differences from the different versions I've read. The two that impressed me the most were the King James Version and the New Revised Standard Version. The differences were like night and day. Probably because they were the first two I read, and maybe because the King James Version, as I said before, has a lot of the "language of the 1800s" in it, like "you" and "thy." following: In the moment of prayer and fasting, anger and struggle are mixed. You can't be like this and expect me to hear and answer your prayers. I am not satisfied with this kind of fasting and prayer. The kind of fasting that is acceptable to me is being righteous in what you do and say and letting go of your heavy burdens. Go make someone else's day. Share what you have with less wealthy people like you. If you do this, My light will shine on you and you will heal quickly. I will guard you with my glory. When you call me, I will answer. If you stop accusing people, the darkness around you will become light as day. I will take care of your needs. I will give you food even when there is none. I'll take care of you. You will be known as a builder, not as someone who tears things down.
