Topic > My family life - 1909

I would call my family life peaceful, loving and spiritual, since only my father and I live together and we have built a very good communication relationship where we share our thoughts on different points of points of views ranging from worldly matters to sports to biblical truth. My view of authority and discipline was not very favorable a couple of years ago when I was a teenager. Growing up with my father I had to experience a strict but healthy side of discipline where I didn't agree with a rebellious and know-it-all attitude. The fact that my father had the authority to discipline me in simple things like cleaning my room and putting things back where I got them were actually small steps in following the rules. Even commands that required more than just effort to execute. Those things, which we thought were enemies, brought character and integrity. In other words, those disciplinary tests that I thought were senseless prepared me for the order I would have to undergo to be ordained by our Heavenly Father. We worship the Lord in common ways, such as sermons and songs, but our primary source of worship is discussion of God's wonderful works of creation and nature. My father and I deeply recognize God's work on earth and love to squeeze an orange and taste the sweetness of Christ, which may seem absurd to those who are not sensitive to things of the spirit. Recognizing and not taking for granted all that the Lord has provided for us is the true heart of worship. The Christian life is like nothing this world has to offer. This alone speaks volumes, but to touch on a couple of benefits that I have experienced not necessarily living as a Christian because these days there seems to be a variety of ways a person can claim to be saved without showing any fruit of conversion, but I speak as a young person who he has tasted firsthand the mercy and grace of God and I would have to say that the blessing of the true Christian life is having the understanding of how weak and depraved we truly are. We can do nothing without God, and realizing this makes me cling to Him with every ounce of passion and I am rewarded. The behavior of a Christian, or rather the word seeker of God, would be that of a person who acts, speaks and behaves to the glory of God.
